Got a birthday coming up for a child between the ages of 1 to 12? Want to spare yourself the stress and anxiety of planning, organizing, decorating, and all the other headaches that come along with children’s birthday parties? Looking for a unique birthday experience that will leave a lasting impression on you, your child, and their friends? Well, you’re in luck! The WHCA is now offering all-inclusive birthday party packages starting at just $230(+gst)! Our spaces can fit your child and up to 14 of their friends for unique birthday experiences including inline skating and custom Sportball events.

Inline Skating Birthday Package
Kindergarten to Grade 6 

Get you skate on with instruction & gear provided by Alien Inline and leave the care & clean-up to us! This birthday package is perfect for the K to 6 student who wants a fun & memorable birthday celebration with up to 15 friends!

1.5 hrs of inline skating & 1 hr in the party room

Sportball Birthday Package
Ages 1-3 (parented) | Ages 3-6 (unparented)

So here’s the scenario: you have a gang of 3 year olds at your door. They’re about to tear your house down. With energy to burn, they start screaming for cake. Don’t panic! We’ve got your back with awesome games and activities to bring structure to your chaos. Equipment and instruction on us!

1 hr of Sportball Instruction & 1 hr in the party room

Calgary’s Celebration of Sport

Calgary is hub for sport.  From beginner level sports to professional teams and organization, the community is strong.  Not only is the passion strong within the community, it is within those people and organizations that volunteer and give back the gift of sport to others.

As reported on the VisitCalgary website, “In support of sport in Calgary, The Celebration of Sport 2018 event recognizes the people and organizations that make Calgary an incredible world-class sports city.

This year’s event will be comprised of a late afternoon reception, short awards ceremony and an expert panel discussion on sport. The event will be memorable and offer excellent networking opportunities with athletes, sport organizations, business and community leaders, and government officials. More than 500 attendees are expected this year.

100% of proceeds from the event will go to support amateur sport in the city, and programs that encourage sport participation, like All Sport One Day.

Happy Chinese New Years

Happy Chinese New Year!    And what important year it will be.  It’s that time of year in the Chinese culture where celebrations take place.  This year, the Chinese New Year is on Friday, February 16, 2018.

As reported on When-Is, “according to the Chinese 12-year animal zodiac cycle, the Chinese year beginning in 2018 is the year of the Dog. Each Chinese zodiac year begins on Chinese New Year’s Day.”

If you want to learn more about the Chinese New Year and the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, check out the China Highlights website.  You will find information about your zodiac sign of your birth year, as well as the traditional Chinese superstitions.

“Chinese New Year, also known as the “Spring Festival” in modern Mainland China, is China’s most important traditional festival, celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar, which consists of both Gregorian and lunar-solar calendar systems. Chinese New Year can begin anytime between late January and mid-February.

“China’s Spring Festival public holiday starts on the Chinese New Year, and lasts for 7 days.”
