COVID -19 UPDATE: Feb 9, 2022
The Government of Alberta’s plan to lift COVID-19 restrictions is set to occur in three steps and we are now on stage 2:
Stage Two
Takes effect March 1 at 12 a.m., and will remove indoor masking, remaining school requirements, youth screening for entertainment and sports, removal of capacity limits on all large venues and entertainment venues, limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings lifted and mandatory work from home lifted.
Stage Three
Does not have a date as of yet. Where people would no longer be required to isolate if they have COVID-19, and COVID operational and outbreak protocols will be lifted in continuing care facilities. The stages are all conditions-based approaches, based on hospitalization trends.
Spectators: Effective Dec 1st, WHCA will have no restriction on spectator capacity BUT all spectators should be seated in the spectator seating areas (arena stands, gym stage, or inside studio spaces). COVID-19 restrictions will need to be followed as they change with the Government of Alberta’s re-opening plan. Please keep facility hallways and lobby areas clear at all times.
If you are using our centre please:
- STAY HOME if you are not feeling well with any type of sickness.
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Socially distance when possible.
- Limit the time in dressing rooms to a minimum, come dressed ready to play.
- Do not linger or wait in any of our hallways.
- Other rental groups for example Hockey Calgary have their own policies regarding Covid-19 and other restrictions. Please follow your groups COVID-19 policies, WHCA will not be policing or enforcing external groups restrictions.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.
